ALIBI FOR iPHONE
Set up once from your Mac. Then your iPhone does it on its own. Teleport from the phone, with no cable and no Mac nearby. Same privacy: your location never leaves your devices.
HOW IT WORKS
Your Mac puts the app on the phone and signs it with your Apple ID. That is the only part that needs a computer.
Install Alibi for Mac and open it. The iPhone installer is built in. There is nothing extra to download.
Use a data-capable USB cable and tap Trust. Turn on Developer Mode if Alibi asks. You need the cable for this one session only.
Alibi signs the app with your own Apple ID. Your email and password go only to Apple, never to us.
Get LocalDevVPN from the App Store. It is free. It loops the phone back to itself so Alibi can talk to iOS.
Unplug. Open Alibi on the iPhone, pick a place, and go. No cable and no Mac nearby.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
STRAIGHT ANSWERS
To install the app, your Mac signs it with your own Apple ID. Your email and password go to Apple, never to us. Apple lets a free Apple ID sign apps for 7 days at a time. If you would rather not use your main account, a spare free Apple ID works fine.
That is Apple’s rule for free accounts. An app signed with a free Apple ID stops opening after 7 days unless it is signed again. Alibi renews it for you. A paid Apple developer account gets a full year between renewals.
The 7-day signature ran out. Plug the iPhone into your Mac and click Renew in Alibi. Renewing from the phone itself is coming. It takes a few seconds. Your saved places stay where they were.
Open LocalDevVPN and tap Connect, then open Alibi again. On cellular, turn Cellular Data off first, tap Connect, then turn Cellular Data back on. The VPN only loops the phone back to itself. Nothing leaves the phone.
No. Setup turns on Developer Mode, installs one app, and adds one VPN profile. You can remove all three in Settings, and the iPhone is exactly as it was.
No, and nobody can. Apple does not allow this kind of app in the App Store, so every tool in this space needs a computer once. Alibi keeps it to one USB session. After that the phone runs on its own.
Mac only for now. The iPhone app needs the Mac app to install it. A Windows version is planned, but it is not here yet.
No separate purchase. When the iPhone app ships, it is included in monthly, yearly, and lifetime. Until then, the Mac app does everything from your desk.
