The short version
Alibi is designed so your real GPS and chosen locations do not need to leave your own devices. Privacy is a product decision, not an optional setting.
- Location processing happens locally on your Mac and iPhone.
- We do not keep a server-side history of where you go or project.
- We do not sell personal information or share it for behavioral advertising.
- We collect only what is needed to provide purchases, accounts, and support.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Alibi, we may receive your email address, account identifier, plan and purchase status, support messages, and basic privacy-respecting website measurements. Payment details are processed by Stripe; Alibi does not receive your full card number.

Your location data
Your real GPS position and locations you select are used locally to operate the product. They are not uploaded to Alibi as a location history.
Saved Places, Saved Routes, and History are stored locally on your Mac. Deleting them removes the local copy; Alibi does not maintain a matching server archive.
How information is used
Limited account and purchase information is used to unlock the app, manage plans, process refunds, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal or accounting obligations.
Retention and your choices
Account and transaction records are retained as needed to provide the product and satisfy legal obligations. Support messages are kept only while useful for support and product quality.
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information we hold by emailing privacy@getalibiapp.com.
Security
Connections to Alibi’s online services use encryption in transit. The most sensitive information—your location activity—is minimized by keeping it on your devices. No system is perfectly secure, but collecting less meaningfully reduces exposure.
