Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the team that operates Alibi (“Alibi,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, or using Alibi, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
If you use Alibi on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.
Who can use Alibi
Alibi is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to buy or use it, and you confirm that you are when you purchase. Alibi is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly sell to minors.
You may only set the location of an iPhone you personally own or are clearly authorized to control. Using Alibi to track, monitor, or change a device that belongs to someone else without their knowledge and consent is never allowed.
Your license
Alibi and everything in it — the software, design, and branding — belong to us and our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Alibi on devices you own or control, for your own lawful use.
You may not resell, rent, redistribute, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile, extract the source code of, or circumvent the licensing or technical limits of Alibi — except to the narrow extent the law expressly permits.
Alibi is a paid app. An active monthly, yearly, or lifetime plan unlocks full use for the duration of that plan, and every plan is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Licenses & credentials
Some features require a license key or sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your license and credentials secure and for activity that happens under them. Tell us promptly if you believe your license has been compromised.
Don't share, sell, or transfer your license. We may deactivate licenses that appear to be shared, resold, or otherwise abused.
Acceptable use
Alibi exists to give you control over your own location and privacy. You are responsible for how you use it, and you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and only on devices you're allowed to control.
You agree not to use Alibi to:
- break any law, regulation, or court order — including evading law enforcement, bail, parole, probation, or a custody or restraining order;
- commit fraud or deceive anyone for gain, including misrepresenting your location to an employer, insurer, court, or government in violation of an obligation you owe them;
- stalk, harass, threaten, monitor, or harm another person, or alter the location of a device you don't own or aren't authorized to control;
- impersonate anyone, or violate anyone else's privacy, safety, or other rights;
- defeat the security of, or break the rules of, another app or service in a way that service prohibits.
You alone are responsible for complying with the rules of any third-party service you use Alibi with. We may suspend or end access where we reasonably believe Alibi is being used to cause harm or break the law.
Other apps & services
Alibi changes the location your iPhone reports, which in turn affects other apps — like Find My, Maps, or Life360. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple or any of those services, and their names and logos belong to their respective owners.
Those services have their own terms, and presenting a changed location to them may breach those terms. Whether and how you use Alibi with any third-party service — and any consequence of doing so — is entirely your responsibility.
Payments & plans
Prices are shown at checkout and handled by our payment provider. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel; lifetime is a single one-time payment with no recurring charge. You're responsible for any applicable taxes.
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period; it doesn't retroactively refund the current period, except under the guarantee below.
Refunds
Every paid plan is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Alibi isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full — no hoops.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. After a refund, your license ends and paid features are disabled.
Availability & changes
We work to keep Alibi reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Operating systems and connected services change, and a feature that works today may need to adapt or may stop working. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Disclaimers
Alibi is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don't warrant that Alibi will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that any particular location result will be achieved or maintained on any given app, service, or device. You use Alibi at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alibi and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app.
Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Alibi in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Alibi and its team against any claims, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of anyone else.
Termination
You can stop using Alibi at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms or use Alibi unlawfully. On termination, your right to use the app ends — but the sections that should survive by their nature, like the disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification, continue to apply.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Alibi's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that location, unless a consumer-protection law that applies to you gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Where permitted by law, you and Alibi agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to a class or representative action. Nothing here limits rights that can't be waived under the law where you live.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Together with our Privacy Policy, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about Alibi.
You also agree not to use Alibi where doing so is prohibited by law, including under applicable export controls or sanctions.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date below and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use Alibi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
